Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Now who remembers this iconic word? and along with the phrase "A spoon full of sugar will make the medicine go down". This is the magic that is Mary Poppins. A truely marvellous musical and something children should watch.

"Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! Even though the sound of it Is something quite
atrocious; If you say it loud enough You'll always sound precocious; Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" Mary Poppins

I remember saying "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" for like weeks maybe even months after I saw the movie. I use to tell everyone that word and my grandparents and other elder indian people would stare at me with a blank expression, I thought it was because they thought I was so clever but now I know they probably thought I was a crazy kid who was making up words. Im still crazy but I dont make up words anymore. Think this will be my new favourite word even though its not really a word.

I came across this word the other day when my small cousin was watching Mary Poppins on dvd. I thought I would just sit for a sec but I ended up watching the entire movie whilst he left and proceeded to chase after bugs in the garden. Wonder who had more fun?
So it got me thinking about the classic cartoons that I've had the pleasure of watching and enjoying not the horrible senseless stuff they show these days. Yes I watch cartoons, you can never be too old for bugs bunny making an arse out of elmer fudd its classic.

Trip dowm memory lane time: Remember Bugs Bunny (whats up Doc?), daffy duck, donald duck, goofy (in goof troop) mickey and mini mouse, Yosamite Sam, Tom & Jerry(the carnage) , Top Cat, Popeye the sailor (I never understood how they found ol olive oil attractive), Peanuts (Charlie Brown and Snoopy), Asterix and obelix (my favourite Gauls), Tin Tin (Snowy , Captain Haddock- "billions of bilious blue blistering barnacles"), The Flintstones (I have a neighbour that reminds me of barney rubble), the Jetsons, Road Runner (I need to get me some acme products) and the one the only GUMMI BEARS with their gummi berry juice. Oh and how could I forget the smurfs and their subsequent sexual innuendos with smurfette being the only female smurf. I know im forgetting alot but these were classics. I know I left scooby Doo out but I never really like that dog or the mystery machine "jinkies".

Anyways these were classics, they were funny and highly entertaining and still are today. I mean today there are some good stuff like dexter, johnny bravo, Samurai Jack but there are terrible ones also. Cow and Chicken and Ed edd n Eddy come to mind. They are midless and senseless and i would never let my kids (inshallah I have some one day) to watch them. Even movies aimed at kids these days are actually made for an adult audience. They cuddly creatures are just there to amuse the kids whilst the story is made for adults. I mean which child understood half the jokes or the references in shrek for example. They need to make movies for kids with a message and values they can understand.

Inside somewhere deep down we all children at heart and these cartoons are embedded in our youth and our memory. They encouraged the growth of our imaginations and in some way our brain development. Long live cartoons and remember to say Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious if you ever in a tight situation it may help you out or even change your mood :)

P.S If you cant remember the word I doubt you will remember this but I found it on a site
And a holy man, who walks barefoot all his life, eats little and may suffer from a frail body and bad breath, could be called a "super calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis." :-)

The Revelation!

I thought this was a cool door sign. Dont you? So now when you are doing your exorcism's at hotels or some ritualistic temple ask the hotel staff or the friendly acolytes of the temple for this door sign. Remember they are there to help you unless you are the one being exorcised or sacrificed. You wouldnt want to be interrupted during an exorcism now would you. Thinking about it, its healthy every now and then to undergo a personal exorcism to reasses our life and in which way is it going. Without the spinning head and green vomit or an old and a young priest present ready to use the power of christ to compell you ofcourse.

Oh and this is for saal enjoy its actually a remix (which is not bad,but i prefer the original) if you want the original just click the link below. Oh ad I have been practicing the dance steps hehe :)

T.I.A

This Is Africa

A Red Dawn Breaks over Africa... Blood has been shed, animal or human the difference is often a blur. Millions get up to start their day not knowing how they will end it or who will end it. Lying on a crude bed or in the dust covered in blood this day will end. Bands of Men displaced and impoverished arm themselves. Calling themselves Freedom fighters or rebel alliances trying to free the nation but they only cause more oppression. They free the nation by killing its people and hording it riches until another group of men arm themselves and the process begins a new. Death leads to more death.

Will the opression in Africa ever end in this land forgotten by the world. From its early beginings is has been enslaved by foreign powers only interested in raping the land for their own personal gain. The English, French, Belgian they all came to Africa with the sole purpose of strengthening there empires at the cost of the Black man at the cost of Africa. They came to this continent and described it as dark and considered Africans as sub human, not even homo sapien but a seperate branch of human. They took what they wanted and subjugated millions, teaching them to hate and fear and then left without a thought at what they had done.

When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said, 'Let us pray.' We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land. Bishop Desmond Tutu

Indoctrinated into a warped ideology Africa's children are robbed of her innocence. Never given the opportunities of there western counterparts, what did they do to deserve this. Is the life of a white western child worth more than the life of an African child ? 300.000 child soldiers all locked and loaded ready to kill at a drop of a Hat when they should be learning about Dr Seuss and his Cat in a Hat. This is not meant to be. How can we stand by and allow the breeding of mass murders? How can we be so indifferent?

Civil Wars fueled by the weapons of the west rage on in every part of the continent, caused buy the void left by the colonial powers. Genocide, ethnic cleansing, mass rape, and the displacement of millions of people from their homes. Atrocities galore, but who will help a bunch of poor Africans with no oil and nothing to offer. The West stands by and talks whilst Africans die. Africa is alone and it will destroy itself alone. Refugees walking miles upon miles to escape the horror. The horror we have been desensitized to, the horror we think shedding a tear will help prevent, the horror we would not be able to endure or survive.

"A genocide in Africa has not received the same attention that genocide in Europe or genocide in Turkey or genocide in other part of the world. There is still this kind of basic discrimination against the African people and the African problems. " Boutros Boutros-Ghali

Africa's potential is undoutedly wasted. Limitless resources but without the knowledge of how to use it, its useless. The west buys the material and sells the finish product for double the price. If they cant afford it they are advised to take a loan from the world bank and then they are indebt forever. At the beck and call of the west, never independent never free. Still Slaves in a world free of slavery. The pope has apologised for the crusades but I personally have never heard anyone apologise for slavery.

People say that slaves were taken from Africa. This is not true: People were taken from Africa, among them healers and priests, and were made into slaves. Abdullah Ibrahim

Starving children everywhere you turn like a plague, an investation at the roots of this continent. Often homeless and orphaned who will take care of them. Who will tuck them in at night or read them a bed time story? Will they ever get the opportunity to learn about einstein or mozart let alone aspire to be like them. Come to think of it will they even reach the age of 11?

The red soil of Africa darkens each day with the blood of her children, fighting for causes that are not their own. Brothers killing brothers. Children killing the old. A generation wiped out by the barrel of a gun. Western bullets ripping through African flesh for buried treasure caked in blood. The colonialists still dictate the lives of Africans with their need for wealth. The Motherland was once a place of life the birthplace of all mankind but now it's an inescapable graveyard for its inhabitants. Thousands murdered in the prime of their life in the pursuit of "freedom" is it worth it? A new day a new war... This is Africa

This post was inspired by movies like "The Constant Garderner", "Hotel Rwanda" and "Blood diamond" All great movies which I highly recommend. We cannot stand by anymore, we must act. We need to make Africa a better place we need to bring back peace and educate its people so that we can finaly see its beauty with out the haze of gun fire and the stains of blood.

God bless Africa, Guard her people, Guide her leaders, And give her peace.
Trevor Huddleston

Something for the Guys.....

This may definately offend some females and that is not my intention and by no way do I think females are toys to be used and manipulated like a game. I hope An angry mob of feminists, Pitch forks and torches in hand pumped up high on estrogen dont form an angry man hate group and come to get me. I just think this was funny and who can stop anyone of dreaming of a better world. I think the picture says it all....

Life Imitating Blog.....

I walked into Exclusive books the other day for my usual Exclusive books walk through where I page through books that catch my eye, which is usually in the science fiction section. So im browsing like any other patron and this book catches my eye. Immediately I think of Queen Lestat's Blog and when did she convert her blog to paperback. I mean I knew we had to convert to the new blogger but didnt realize that they gave you a paperback option, which would be much more easier then all those widgets (Anyone remember the show on KTV back in the day "Widget the world watcher")
So I contact her Highness and she informs me that this is a genuine fake and not her blog on paperback lol. Obviously she was distraught and inconsolable. How could this happen, the audacity of the writer to copy her, how dare he!. The name has been altered but its like a derivative of her blog title. A case of, copyright infringement? I dont know and doubt she will win not because im her lawyer but because its a dodgey case. Was she using copyleft. I would say let sleeping dogs lie but its up to the queen. Fellow bloggers dont be confused by this cheap imitation is not Queens paperback blog. Life is truely imitating blogs. hehe

2006 and the year ahead

Firstly a comment on 2006........

I was going to do a post concerning 2006 similar to Saaleha's post but I decided against it mainly because I couldnt think of alot the things I did during 2006 (No I wasnt high or abducted by aliens). So it would have been a very very short post not worthy enough to be viewed by the inhabitants of a distant planet whose idea of a fun/wild night out is a game of pictionary and watching re runs of The A team. (They do get our Television signals there). Ok madness aside lets get serious or lets not you decide.

2006 flew by faster than you can say "Wazoooo" say it.... see it was faster than that. For me it started of with dreams of medical grandieur but it was shot down (by wits) and finaly laid to rest in the boulevard of broken dreams. Sad as it was I had to get back on my Horse and begin a new chapter to my life like a phoenix rising from the ashes (Ok that was being extremely dramatic). So I began may law career and by the time I got a handle on it october arrived and I was panicking about my marks like an aggitated Howler monkey. But it went well and im enjoying it to my suprise. Briefly what else did I do hmmmm oh yaah I made new friends some I will keep forever others will fade away like a fart in the wind. One of the coolest thing I did in 2006 was start this here blog which rocks hopefully il continue with it. Basically 2006 was a blur but a good blur that I would welcome again.

OK now for 2007 which for me arrived not with a bang but introduced itself like a gentle breeze, a whisper on the wind. You could call these resolutions but I would lke to label them my 2007 personal REVOLUTIONS.
