Movie Trouble...Whilst Being a Famous Leader.

Ah well now that was a hectic week and I’m glad it’s over. I have been meaning to post but The Turquand Rule aka Dew’s Rule (because she likes how it sounds :) kept me very busy. But I am free now, well at least till Monday……sigh im such a geek, friends call me a workaholic I cant really argue there so ill just keep quiet. But i am a bloggaholic so yaah hehe.

I watched 300 a week or so ago and it was great! Besides making me feel like im a tub of lard because those Spartans were truly built like Greek gods it was a really good movie well shot, very artistic and the battle scenes were poetry in motion, I really want to be a Spartan or rather KRATOS (MJ will agree with me). Ladies this is truly eye candy for you and something for the guys to aspire to (Check out the 300 workout). I watched it twice as with most good movies (I watched The Final Lord of the Rings 3 times in 48 hours…it was insane I came out feeling like a warrior of middle earth). and it was great. It falls in the realm of historical fantasy because the Battle of Themophylae did happen and the 300 spartans did stand against the mighty persians. And this battle happened around 430 B.C so the persians were not muslims and this movie is not anti islam.

The first time I watched it my friends and I ran into problems, not of our own doing but still it really dampened an otherwise fun night. Sterkinekor firstly sold us tickets online that included disabled seats which you may know consists of NO SEATS. So there were 5 of us and we only had 2 seats. We went to the inept management that didn’t help us. So went back to the cinema to try our luck and sit the seats next to ours in the hope that no one would pitch, however they did so I got up apologized and then contemplated where to sit. Now im sure this has happened to you before where you have been sitting in someone’s seats or vice versa and the usual thing is to apologies and move, no stress no hassle no fuss. There was nothing usual about this night and as I was walking away I was tapped on the shoulder by this guy and he proceeded to swear me and completely blow the situation out of proportion saying that how dare I sit in his seat and a whole lot of childish banter which I will not repeat and was getting in my face. Now he was out of line but still I apologized again but this crazy dude carried on causing a scene, he was with his girlfriend so I think he was trying to impress her...I dunno how though....Do you girls get impressed my idiots trying to act all macho and being idiotic?

So I really wasn’t in the mood so I walked out of the cinema with my friends went to management and they gave us tickets for the 10 show. So abit of drama but its an experience and I finally know that Neanderthals do exist, what a looser. A horrible movie experience I will not forget.

Oh while im at it I would like to Thank BB-Aisha for the tag... Heres the result...

Borat!

Yashemash!

I'm sure everybody has heard the hype and controversy surrounding Sacha Baron Cohen's latests movie Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (And thats the abridged title), if not then you surely live under a rock or maybe I watch to much Tv. The movie is said to be one of the funniest movies in years, it has grossed tons of money and the government of the GLORIOUS nation of Kazakhstan and everyone else who was dupped in the movie is suing Mr Cohen. As everyone knows there is no such thing as bad publicity and this movie has reached cult status and has made Sacha Baron Cohen a millionaire. movie exects are literally throwing money at him to make his next movie.

So today I decided to watch Borat and see for myself what was
all the hype about. I wont spoil the movie for those that still havent watched it so please continue reading. When you watch it dont go into the theatre with any expectations because it is'nt oscar worthy far from it. Firstly its definately not for kids or parents so if your parents want to see it convince them otherwise. It doesnt have much of a story but in my opinion it is very funny, it made me laugh hysterically, the way he speaks and his phrases and saying are classic. It also made me cringe and in fact look away at times, yes some scenes if you do not cringe then you are certainly made of sterner stuff because DAMN it takes wrestling to another level.

The Humour is very unique and has to be taken together with a spoonful of sugar ala Mary Poppins....wait make that a cup of sugar. Some may consider it utter trash because it is raw, lewd, degrading to women, portrays kazahkstan as a country of farmers and rapist and anti semetic which is amazing since Sacha Baron Cohen is a Jew himself. However it does show how unacceptting Americans are of other nations and cultures, so its more a documentary on the stupidity and gullibility of the American nation which is remarkable.

Another thing that amazes me is how well he did to stay in character. There isnt a moment that the accent wanes, his gait changes or anything, his performance is flawless. You may say that he acted like a complete jackass but it takes talent real talent to act like that and remain in character. He was arrested around 30times during the filming because he remained in character and that is some dedication. Even now he remains in character, he recently wrestled
Conan O'Brian in an attempt to shave his pubic hair, he asked a Sky News reporter where he can get a prostitute and pitched up at a premiere in a carriage being pulled by 6 women. Yes thats insane. An oscar nomination? I doubt it but the academy has never really recognized comic genius like Andy Kaufman.

Now there are some muslims who may be offended and not watch it because Borat makes fun of Kazakhstan which has a large muslim population (and an equally large Christian roman orthodox population) and therefore makes fun of islam . I assure you this movie is more anti semetic (which im still shocked at) then anti muslim. Also and this is just my opinion if you are not going to watch a movie because you feel it offends your culture or religion you should also not watch movies which offend other nations are cultures. There cant be a double standard where its fine to laugh at someone else but we cant laugh at ourselfs (within a certain boundary ofcourse).

Its a funny movie and it doesnt pretend to be something it isnt I would recommend you see it ....its very NIIICE!

Yakshemash! In US of A, democracy is very different from Kazakhstan. In America, woman *can* vote, but horse - *cannot*!

Hell !

Anyone expecting a literary masterpiece about the eternal DAMNATION that awaits some of us in the life after death will be disappointed. This is just an Arb post and a little weird.

The sight of HELL (or for that matter HEAVEN) would be uncomprehendible for the human mind to process. However everyone has at some stage in their life imagined or have been told what HELL may look like and we have built up our own personal representations of it. Every faith on Earth has some version of Hell were the souls of the evil are damned to an eternity of suffering until they have paid for their sins and are forgiven by God. To the majority of the worlds population HELL is a very real concept where they live daily in situations that for the lack of a better description is HELL ON EARTH. God Bring peace and relief to these people.

Fire and Brimstone contantly raining down, burning wind swepped plains, the sky ablazed, rivers of boiling blood, demons, endless torture and the screams of the damned are what come to mind when we think of hell and its a scary thought. Hell has been portrayed in movies numerous times but for the most part they have been way off the mark. I think the version of Hell in the movie Constantine, was the best ive ever seen so far. Now the movie wasnt great but its portrayal of hell was the closest in my opinion to what Hell may look like.

The suffering of the Damned:

I know that this representation is a far cry from the truth which is probably a milion times worse but for me this may be as close as it gets. The human mind is feeble and we do things without thinking that there may be consequences. We try and do things in secret away from prying eyes so that we dont get caught but we can never escape the vision of God, you cant escape the Omnipresent so we will pay for our sins. However I pray for all that we never find out what it actually looks like in this world and the Hereafter.

John Constantine: Officially, I was dead for two minutes... but believe me, two minutes in hell is a lifetime.
